Three measurements to bring.
Approximate measurements are enough to start. A photo of the space helps too.
- Length: measure the space where the bench will sit. For a dining bench that tucks away, measure the clear gap between the table legs, not just the table’s overall length.
- Depth: mark the footprint with tape and check the room left for walking past. Open nearby doors and cupboards to check they clear the proposed bench.
- Height: if it will be used for dining, measure the table’s underside and compare a seat you find comfortable. Include any cushion you plan to use.

Can a bench be made to fit my existing table?
Yes. Send the table’s height, the clear space underneath and the distance between its legs, along with a photograph. We can discuss a bench that suits those dimensions.
Can you match the finish of my furniture?
A photo is a useful starting point for discussing a complementary timber and finish. Wood grain and colour naturally vary, so an exact visual match cannot be assumed from a photograph.
How much does a bespoke bench cost?
Each bench is quoted according to its size, timber, design and finish. Send approximate dimensions and the style you like to start the conversation.
Can I order a bench with a new table?
Yes. Choose “Table and bench” on the enquiry form and tell us how many people you want to seat. We’ll consider the proportions of both pieces together.
